Entry Blog updagte Log: 4/4/2010

Weeks 11, 12 animation checks ups.

Week 13 animation should be completed. I made some changes
3D production took longer than expected. The animation for Thesis 2010-2011 currently
is in work and progress.

The rest of the summer I will be focusing on just animating the story sequences properly.

Week 14 I worked on more motion test and working out how text will effect this
animation.

Further down I tried playing around with color. I want to see how the city would look.
Production schedule: I would like to run a motion tests starting this week.

A new production time line will be made for the summer. The summer will be used to starting breaking down the animation into sections to work on.

We can do something about climate change!

High Concept:A robot helps find a way to educate viewers on how to reduce their own carbon emissions footprint would have a great effect on Earth’s climate change.


Animation concept which will focus on climate change.

I thought about addressing the subject of Global Warming for a while. In the past I enjoyed art pieces that revolve around the Hip Hop culture. This September for Thesis I wanted to try a different design that would challenge me. How to make us more aware of our environment.

Story Script.
Narrative Point of view:

Character: Robot
Problem: Increased Carbon emission killing Earth’s climate.


Location: Earth’s environment.

Summer Production schedule:
Luckily I have posted up on the final style sheets page images of the robot,and earths environment. Over the next 3 months I will continue to work on my thesis.

June 2010
June 7th- 25th
Completing the entire environment for the animation.

June 25th to June 30th
Begin tweaking the color of the environment a bit more.
Color layout will be done in Maya using mental ray. Also I will use photoshop for ending results of my scenes with in After Effects.


July 2010
Sound Design. July 1st- july16
I will be compiling sounds from soundsnap or audio jungle.
Remaing two weeks begin placing sound to specific scenes in the animation.
I already started adding some sound to some motion tests for the beginning of the animation.
July 19-20 th
I will be finalizing sound clips.

August 2010
1ST week off that's birthday week August 5th.
August 9th-25th work on animation.



Story

A robot is traveling in search of sustainable life. While on his search the robot flies over a Grey cloudy cored Earth. But the Earth as we know it has gone through climate environmental damage. All that was lush green and teaming with life has been effected by the amount of Carbon produced by industrial engineering. The atmosphere is a Grey environment with low oxygen. The world’s supply of natural resources has been depleted by human neglect. Earth’s atmosphere has completely deteriorated; all of the living nature, animals, plant life, marine life and some of the human life have been affected by climate change. This is largely due to the pollutants that human waste has let off into the environment. As the robot continues his search of corroded Earth, the robot comes in contact with globe resembling Earth spinning on a CFL light as the globe's axis. On the side of the globe is a light switch. The robot turns the light switch down and lights up. Inside the globe the robot starts to see positive ideas and ways to help reduce climate change. This is going to be motion graphic piece with messages about climate change and ways to help reduce it. The robot then travels over green fields some with wind mill power plants as a source of natural energy.
The idea for this piece will be for the robot to pass by different environments where carbon emissions effects us. Then he will give examples of how we can make a change to the environment.



The story plot had to be change a bit. My first linear narrative did no address the serious issue of climate change in this piece. I'm posting the first concept idea. I will be posting a new narrative concepts.

One important thing for this project is for people to see what is the reason for climate change. Possibly by showing some of the causes of climate change viewers can be more educated as to nature of this issue. I'm waiting on the net flix Al Gore DvD "An Inconvenient Truth" as a part of my research. My goal today and tomorrow is to post up some motion test. Okay that is it for now.
